The study of classical magic, the magic of will. Sorcerers memorize spells and cast enchantments after the traditional style of wizardry. Their magic is unpredictable, and often each spell varies by the hands that cast it. Because a powerful will is needed to craft Sorceries, Sorcerers often make natural leaders. Due to their mastery of illusion and dueling magic, they rarely have trouble reaching positions of power in Indines.
- School of Evocation - The magic of forces. Evocation is the magic of altering the world directly through force of will, and deals with the creation and manipulation of light, heat, and kinetic force. Higher levels of Evocation are known as ‘War Magic’ and have classically been used to wipe out entire armies on the battlefield.
- School of Illusion - The magic of control and deception. Illusionists can cause others to see, hear, and feel whatever the mage wishes. At higher levels, total mind control of the subject is possible. High-level illusion magic is banned in most countries of Indines, and Argent is one of the few places in the world where it is actively studied.
- School of Binding - The discipline of enchantment. Unlike artificers, who forge items with permanent magical properties, Binders cast spells to give new powers to items. (Forging a magic sword that burns red hot when held is the work of an Artificer. Causing an ordinary sword to levitate and fight on its own is a Binding Sorcery). Binders also specialize in enchantments that affect living things, such as those which can turn people to stone or cause eternal slumber.
